Post-Event: A Taste of Animethon 2011
WOW! is one thing out of many words I could say to describe this event. The attendance of this year was 595! (Source provided by a member of 404s) which beats last years launch by almost 100 attendees. We at Roanapur covered some of the events out of all the possible choices that ATOA provided this year. From the beginning we felt the amazing vibe from the staff/volunteers with their great smiles and happy faces so much we thought we were in the wrong convention ROFL...
But you can also sense the pride and effort they gave to this event. The registration portion of this event was relatively fast this year. We started our day by strolling through the market place checking out the new items for sale like Manga, Rare & Classic video games, as well as free hand drawings that look pretty amazing! We rolled out to the open mic where 2 of our blogger's participated. It was a good event seeing people singing their hearts out to their favorite Japanese song! I was amazed by all the talented people their and was surprised to see a young lady read the lyrics in which I believe is Hiragana. Next up was the AMV comedy hour which shows funny AMV's created by fans around the world! We laugh so hard that we got hungry so we hit up the cafeteria where I spotted more cosplayers and got more pictures while getting our food! (Talk about dedicated LOL) After our lunch break came time for the event we all have been waiting for... COSPLAY CONTEST! There were many cosplayers which I would like to give thanks for their hard work and dedication on creating awesome cosplays of their favorite characters! To check out the pictures of the cosplay contest they will be located under our individual comments or if you wish to see a compilation video of the pictures its located under "local events" in our site provided to you by Kido_Xplode (Thanks Buddy!) I (CITEG) am sorry for not being fast enough to jot done the winners of the contest but to us everyone was a winner with those nice cosplays. Reaching the end of our day we watched "Panty and Stocking with Garter Belt" and that made us laugh really hard... pretty funny I (CITEG) recommend that but please be advised that the anime is rated 18+ so PLEASE ask for permission before viewing the anime if you are under the age of 18 Thank You! There was a dance after the event which we did not attend because we were pretty exhausted by the end of our day but it was all worth it. We recommend any anime enthusiast to come to this event next year (Hopefully its gonna continue) and the following events that these great people came to promote (Check out Upcoming events section for more details) Thank you for reading our blog! Hope to see everyone in future events!

I had a blast at AToA! My personal highlight was mt my 4 minuts of fame doing karaoke singing Michi to you all by Aluto which is one of the Naruto shippuuden ending songs. I only sang one song though but I had lots of fun singing. There were really good cosplayers there and my personal favourites were the Vocaloid Lily, Xerxes Break, and the Panty and Stocking duo. Our group watched Panty and Stocking with garterbelt to finish off the day. We were all tired but very satisfied with our experience. I can't wait for the real event in August.

What can I say the event was MIND BLASTING!!!! I didn't participate in the events we attended but i took a lot of pictures of the cosplayers that were there. With the good turn out I can't wait for Animethon 18 in august. I bet more people will attend which will results in more events and more awesome cosplayers.I CAN'T WAIT!!! (sorry for UNLEASHING THE FURY!!!!) I just get carried away sometimes cause ANIME IS THE BEST THING EVER CREATED!!!!
